The program does require a Windows based tablet or laptop with a USB port to work as described on our instructions page linked below. It supports all Bosch ME17.8 ECUs that are found in the Can-Am vehicles. The kit includes the 6 pin connector to work directly with the diagnostic port on your Can-Am. However with more and more ECU tuners on the market and customers with different aftermarket products, we wanted to offer this cable for sale for those that just need to read and clear trouble codes. The cable kit is typically sold as part of our ECU tuning products for Can-Am. Sometimes a FlashCable is intended to be used as an adapter to another cable, and in that case the FlashCable might be less than one foot long and be called a "FlashCable Adapter." One such example is the Mitutoyo FlashCable Adapter, GF-MTI-CONV.The VR Tuned iFlash for the Can-Am can be used as a diagnostic tool to read and clear trouble codes. For example, the 10-foot version of the GF-0190-III is the GF-0190-III-S-10. Often there is an S-xx designation for longer versions of a particular FlashCable. The standard length for FlashCables is 5 feet long. Digital FlashCables can be used with the GP-2102NT or GP-2104NT Digital GagePorts or GP-3102NT Combo GagePort, while Analog FlashCables can be used with the GP-3102NT Combo GagePort only. There are two basic varieties of FlashCables available: Digital FlashCables for gages with digital outputs, and Analog FlashCables for gages with analog DC outputs. This makes setting up the gage configuration in the GagePort much easier, and often it makes it completely plug-and-play.

A GagePort will automatically read this information from the FlashCable so that it knows exactly what type of gage is connected. In addition, a FlashCable contains a flash memory chip that holds information such as the gage name, gage type, and calibration date. A FlashCable is a cable that contains all of the wiring and circuitry required to connect a particular Digital or DC Analog gage to a Digital or Combo GagePort.
